Suzhou is only 24 minutes due west from Shanghai on the fastest high-speed train. The Jinji Lake Shilla Hotel's nearest train station is the high-speed Suzhou Industrial Park station 苏州园区站. You can also take the high-speed train directly from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport to Suzhou Industrial Park high-speed train station- 20mins, although Suzhou 苏州站 and Suzhou North 苏州北站 train stations have more regular services from other cities around China. You can easily get a taxi from these train stations to the hotel. Information in English about train times, and how to purchase tickets, can be found on the Ctrip website.
Taxis in Suzhou are plentiful, relatively cheap and represent the easiest way to get to our campus from most of the transport hubs in Suzhou (fare will be somewhere in the region of RMB 50-100). You can show the taxi driver the following text to make getting there simple:

Attendees from most countries will be required to obtain a visa to enter the People's Republic of China. Attendees can apply for a Chinese visa through a travel agency or directly at their nearest Chinese embassy.
Once you have paid for the ICOSSE ’16 registration, we can issue you an official invitation letter to assist with obtaining a visa to China. You can use the letter to get a visa in the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate. The invitation letter will state the conference name, the duration of the conference, your detailed correspondence that will be extracted from your enquiry.
Requests for visa letters should be made to Lucy Alexander at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that due to the large expected number of enquires, we can only reply to visa application queries AFTER you have registered for ICOSSE 2016. General visa information should be obtained from your local China Consulate.
